Zoomget-Recommended Dinner Recipes for Your Valentine

Christian’s Delectable Chocolate Truffles 

What You Need: 

  • 3 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips 
  • 1 can (14 ounces) of sweetened condensed milk 
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract 
  • Optional: Chocolate sprinkles, Dutch-processed cocoa, espresso powder, or cacao nibs 

How to Prepare: 

  1. In a microwave, melt 3 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips with 1 can of condensed milk. Stir until smooth. 
  2. Next, add 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract. Continue to stir until fully mixed. 
  3. Refrigerate the chocolate mixture and cover for about 2 hours or until firm enough to roll. 
  4. Shape them into 1-inch balls using 1st Choice clear vinyl exam gloves to keep your hands clean and the food safe. 
  5. Lastly, top with a hefty amount of chocolate sprinkles or espresso powder as desired. 

Jaymie’s Savory Korean Egg Roll 

What You Need: 

  • 2 tablespoons of chopped green onions 
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped carrots 
  • 1 can (12 ounces) of chopped spam (Note: Ham, sausage, or hotdog will also work.) 
  • 1/4 tablespoon of salt 
  • 1 tablespoon of cooking oil 
  • 4 to 5 eggs 

How to Prepare: 

  1. Chop your green onions, carrots, and choice of meat. 
  2. Beat your eggs in a bowl with a pinch of salt. 
  3. Pour the chopped vegetables and meat into the egg mixture to combine. (Tip: Handle food using 1st Choice clear vinyl exam gloves to avoid messy stains.) 
  4. Next, heat a skillet or a nonstick pan over medium-high heat and pour in the oil. 
  5. Even out the oil in the pan using a paper towel. 
  6. Pour a small amount of egg mixture into the pan and scramble quickly. After which, push the resulting scrambled egg onto one side of the pan. 
  7. Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour a new portion of the egg mixture right beside the earlier mixture. Make sure both mixtures are spread out evenly. 
  8. Repeat the process up until the last drop of your egg mixture. 
  9. Turn off the heat and allow the egg roll to sit and cook for a few more minutes. 
  10. Transfer to a plate, slice, and serve. 

Mandee’s Cheesy Beef Lasagna 

What You Need: 

  • 1 box of oven-ready lasagna noodles 
  • 1 pound of ground beef 
  • Quart jar (32 ounces) of spaghetti sauce 
  • 3 tubs (8 ounces each) of cottage cheese 
  • 2 cups of mozzarella cheese 
  • 2 cups of parmesan cheese 
  • 3 eggs 

How to Prepare: 

  1. Brown beef and combine with spaghetti sauce. Cook for 3 minutes. 
  2. Mix cottage cheese, eggs, mozzarella, and 1.5 cups of parmesan in a huge bowl. (Tip: Be sure to wear 1st Choice clear vinyl exam gloves when mixing.) 
  3. Next, layer your noodles, cheese, and sauce. Start with a layer of sauce, then noodles, then cheese. Repeat until you have 3 layers. 
  4. Cover with foil and bake for about 40 minutes at 425°F. 
  5. Remove cover and top with the remaining parmesan. Continue to bake for about 5 to 10 minutes or until the cheese starts to turn golden. 
  6. Remove from oven and let it sit for another 10 to 20 minutes before serving. 

Nence’s Yummy Carbonara with Bacon 

What You Need: 

  • 1 tablespoon of oil 
  • 250 grams of bacon strips 
  • 1/2 cup of sliced button mushrooms 
  • 1/2 cup of chopped white onions 
  • 2 pouches (7 ounces) of carbonara sauce 
  • 1/2 tablespoon of salt 
  • 1/2 tablespoon of black pepper 
  • 1/3 cup of butter 
  • 1/2 cup of grated cheese 
  • 1/4 cup of chopped parsley 
  • 1 pack (14 ounces) of cooked spaghetti 
  • 1 cup of reserved pasta water 

How to Prepare: 

  1. In a pot, sauté your bacon strips in oil until browned. After which, remove from the pot and set aside. 
  2. In the same pot, sauté your mushrooms for 2 minutes. Add your onions and continue to sauté until translucent. 
  3. Next, pour in the pasta water with the carbonara sauce. Remember that good pasta water tastes like the ocean. Mix everything until well blended. (Tip: Make sure to wear 1st Choice clear vinyl exam gloves when mixing.) 
  4. Proceed to season the sauce with salt and pepper. Simmer for 2 minutes. 
  5. Add in the butter and mix until melted. Turn off the heat and add half of the grated cheese together with the chopped parsley. 
  6. Pour sauce over the cooked pasta. Top with cooked bacon then garnish with the remaining cheese and parsley. Serve and enjoy.
